The aim of CCMET is to foster and promote the historical study of migration, ethnicity and transnational issues, to facilitate collaboration in the field, and to sponsor sessions at the annual conference of the Canadian Historical Association and other appropriate meetings.

Reminder:

This year, the CCMET and the Canadian Oral History Association (COHA) invite you to a joint pub night on Sunday, 27 May, at the Bushwakkers Brewpub, in Regina. The pub is located at 2206 Dewdney Avenue. Reservations are for 5 p.m. and under Jon’s (Jon Malek’s) name. We hope to see you there! Please note that public transportation stops running around 6:00 pm on Sundays. There will be shuttles from hotels to the campus, or taxis for those who are staying in residence or hotels in South Regina.

Dear CCMET Members,  In advance of the AGM, which will be held in Regina on 28 May 2018, we are sending out a call for nominations for the following positions:    

• Member on the CCMET Article Prize Committee. The article prize committee member will be one of three committee members responsible for reviewing approximately 15 submissions for the annual prize competition. This position is for one year, renewable to a maximum of three years. This position usually evolves to become Chair of Article Prize Committee.

Dear members,

This is a reminder for those of you who will be attending the CHA annual meeting in Regina next May. The CHA is offering Child Care Grants (covering the cost of one full day of child care, per child, ages 0-12) to assist members attending Congress. The applications must be sent to the CHA office by May 4th. Please see the attachment for more information on the grant application.

As you know, the Call for Papers for the 2018 CHA meeting is out.

As was the case last year, affiliated committees will be guaranteed at least one sponsored session. There may be more, but in the interest of fairness the CHA has established a guaranteed minimum.
